Lexington, a North Carolina city of 22,000, has 20+ Barbecue restaurants in the city and the immediate area. This has contributed to Lexington being called the “Barbecue Capital”. Being famous for the annual “Barbecue Festival”, attracting more that 150,000 visitors each October, doesn’t hurt our city’s reputation either.
Our “Taste of Lexington” in the spring gives visitors a chance to sample a wide variety of local, regional and national restaurant fare across the city and area. This year’s participating restaurants include: Shoto’s, Zaxby’s Carpe Diem, Cook’s Barbecue, Whitley’s Barbecue, and Fancy Pastry. So, come and enjoy the wonderful food from 5-9 PM on April 11 and Noon—6 PM on April 12 in the Civic Center ballroom.
The opening day of the Taste of Lexington will give visitors a chance to use the PART regional bus which will be offering shuttle service both April 11th and 12th.
